ROS Java Packages#

The ROS Java client library for the first version of ROS is a native implementation which provides basic ROS mechanisms and concepts like Topics, Services and Nodes. Originally developed by Google for the integration of ROS in Android apps, no further development took place in recent years, because the focus was shifted to ROS 2. That’s why parts of ROS Java no longer work under current Python and Ubuntu versions. As part of our research work, we have made ROS Java compatible again for the challenges of the modern age.
